Weather beats

Music for the weather outside. Sill picks lo-fi and chillhop for the sky you’re under and plays it through Apple Music.

Lo-fi has always been weather music. It’s what you put on when it’s raining and you’re not going anywhere, or when the light goes gray at four in the afternoon. Sill just makes the connection explicit: it looks out the window, then picks the record.

Open it and it checks the sky, gathers songs, and chooses a mix — then starts playing. There’s nothing to configure on the way in beyond Apple Music access and a city.

What it does

  • Tuned to the sky

Sill checks the weather where you are and builds a mix to match: soft, reflective lo-fi for rain, warm chillhop for sun, gentle and spacious for snow, slower beats once it's dark.

  • Chosen on your iPhone

With Apple Intelligence, an on-device model picks the songs and writes a short note about the mix. Without it, a built-in ranking scores songs by mood, the weather's energy, and your feedback.

  • A room with a window

A pixel-art apartment sits on the home screen. Its window shows the real weather outside, and a small cloud in headphones bobs along while the record spins.

  • Learns what you skip

Thumbs and skips steer future mixes. Clear them any time without losing your city or settings.

  • The room on your Home Screen

A medium or large widget shows the room, the weather outside its window, and the song that's playing, with play, pause, and skip right there.

  • Three palettes and a sleep timer

Barometer, Night Radio, and Tide Pool each repaint the app and the room, in light and dark. A sleep timer pauses the music after 15, 30, or 60 minutes.

What you’ll need

An Apple Music subscription. Sill plays songs from the Apple Music catalog, so without one it can show you the weather but can’t play the mix. Apple Intelligence is optional — on iPhones that don’t have it, Sill falls back to its own ranking.

Privacy, in one line

No account, no ads, no analytics. Weather and music come from Apple’s services; song selection happens on your iPhone. Your location is used once, approximately, and never tracked in the background, and Sill reads only the playlists you choose and never changes your library.
